Our orthotics are custom-fit to nearly any footwear, including work boots, athletic shoes, cleats, ski boots, ice skates, AFOs, and more. A better fit across more shoes means patients actually wear their orthotics, resulting in improved compliance and long-term results.
To ensure lasting support, we use a high-density foam with a smaller cell structure that resists packing out. This allows the orthotic to maintain its shape and corrective function longer—helping patients experience consistent pain relief, stability, and comfort over time.
Full customization is standard.
All postings, reliefs, and custom modifications—including metatarsal pads—are included at no additional charge, allowing providers to fine-tune treatment plans without cost barriers. This leads to better first-fit success and fewer returns.

Summit Labs LLC was founded in 2009 by Jesse Henthorn, C.Ped., and John Shuper. The focus was to deliver a superior foot orthotic to the industry at a price that was competitive. Summit Labs LLC was the byproduct of the company Diabetic Solutions (a DME; primarily focused on diabetic footwear), which was founded in 2002. We quickly realized that there was void in the industry for a quality manufacturer of diabetic orthotics. In 2006, we started to set up our CAD/CAM system, and by mid-2007, we were ready for direct-milling custom orthotics. Our orthotic bases are milled out of the thickest base materials available, so the patient always receives a true custom, total-contact orthotic. We have multiple base and top sheet materials available depending on the patient’s specific needs.
The driving factor for us to bring fabrication in-house was to create a new level of quality that was needed in the diabetic shoe industry at a fair price. By the beginning of 2009, we had to decide on whether we would continue with our patient care business or become solely a manufacturer. That was the true beginning of Summit Labs LLC. We have since continued to grow and innovate our products to offer a full line of diabetic, accommodative and functional orthotics.
